Vintage 4 draw brass Telescope.

2" object lens,
Multi-element design,
Terrestrial or Astronomical (has astro focus marks on the tubes),
Optics are very clean and gives good views,
Object lens shade (slides out of the front)
Front brass lens protector and 'slide' eyepiece lens protector.
Magnification is unknown, but looks to be quite high, 20 - 25x
Heavy duty canvas carry case (one leather strap is broke, but could be repaired/replaced)

The telescope is in very good condition, the optics are clean and there are very few marks on the tubes.  The brass tubes could do with a clean, but I left it with it's original patina as some people prefer it that way.

The lens system consists of a 2" object lens, then there is a double lens internal and finally another double lens at the eyepiece (see photos as I took these apart to show the internal lens).  I assume these are a way of obtaining the magnification whilst keeping the overall tube length down to a reasonable length.

The centre of the tubes are blackened to reduce internal reflections and improve contrast.

The scope is 11.5" when folded away and 41" when the tubes are fully extended.  The sun shade will add another 2" or so to the overall length.

There is no manufacturer's mark on the scope and I am unsure of the age, looking at similar designs online, it appears these were made from the late 1800s and I suspect it is no younger than 1945 (approx 1900~1940).  It belonged to my father and I can remember using it in the 1970s to look at the moon, it looked old then.

Very difficult to value, so now up for £175, but I am taking offers.
