Bauer Oboe circa 1810 Onion Top HISTORIC COLLECTION

Here is a fine boxwood oboe by Bauer of Prague circa 1810. 

A fine oboe for historic performance of Beethoven and other early romantic composers. Instrument is in excellent condition, will need pad work to be playable at a professional level.

Provenance: The Historic Collection. This is from the collection of a well-known researcher and historian of woodwinds who spent a lifetime collecting rare and unique instruments. We are privileged to offer items from this collection for sale.

As this instrument is historically interesting, we have chosen to not initiate any restoration work, leaving that to the eventual owner. We expect that this instrument will need pad and keywork to be playable.
