Photos 13 - 18 How the parts arrive (13), these are typical marks and minor scratches (14-18), zoom into photos. When dyeing black, it shows up more than lighter colours under some light conditions.

Photos 19 - 22 Destruction testing. MS661 air filter cover, saw died before covers, hundreds of fine scratches but no orange showing. Item cut in half to show original colour. MS193 flywheel cover, you physically have to carve a slice out with a blade to get the core to show.

Photos 23 - 23 Max flow air filter cover for 500i next to dyed cylinder cover. Max flow is more matt, less shiny. Many people buy covers to match Max flow so I thought it’s good to show colour comparison.

Stihl bag some items from factory like 500i cylinder covers, even they though sometimes have small scuffs. Most cylinder and air filter covers arrive without bags and sometimes have these minor cosmetic scratches, they also have large stickers with bar code and part number which leave glue residue and must be removed.

These are working tools however, and only by changing job to quality control at the Stihl Factory could I attempt to eliminate these marks entirely. This must mentioned as one might question why there may on occasion be tiny scuffs on a brand new item. It must too be stated that these do not occur during the dyeing process. If it is for a show saw, this is probably not for you, I can put aside any particularly unmarked ones for your project, this of course takes time. People have been known to reach for the 9mm after staring at scratches for too long.

If you are not into personalizing your saw just buy OEM orange covers, or used OEM if on a budget. If you don’t care, then buy low quality inexpensive disposable copies made in a place located in UTM Zone 50R, 273 749.45 E, 3,098,700.16 N

Combined shipping does not mean buying 3 items, receiving a shipping refund, then leaving negative feedback for 2 items stating “items have not arrived”. It means opening the only box you received and finding the 3 items together inside that box.

I have no control over shipping prices. I ship with Canada Post and their fuel surcharges fluctuate. I also do not charge a handling/packaging fee. Sometimes higher than normal shipping prices are quoted on the site, but message me and I can confirm for you. In many instances, I can refund the additional funds if I can ship for less.

I live in Canada, shipping Items to the US and overseas takes longer than receiving domestic mail in your own country as items have to pass through customs first.

For the US with small items around $20, I ship with small packages air and this is less expensive than a tracked packet, making it more economical in relation to the item you are purchasing. This does not have tracking. If you would like tracking then let me know and I can change the listing. The price will exceed the cost of the item you are purchasing.

Handling time is 5 business days, but if you need it expedited and want to pay extra for priority shipping, I have in the past been able to dispatch the same day. Please contact me prior to purchasing.
