DESCRIPTION:  Here is a mid 19tn century Bohemian cup and saucer decorated on a gilt ground with the cup having a gilt inscription roughly translates to remember me. The cup on a gilt ground and is of a waisted form and has ten facets. The inside of the cup is gilded a third of the way down. It has a mainly gilded high loop handle with the loop having an animal head to the outer loop and a flower head to the inner loop and having a leaf shaped bottom terminal. The base edge is fully beaded and stands on three half gilded paw feet. The saucer with a wide border of convex gilded flutes. The center of the saucer with two gilt bands. Both cup and saucer are not marked and date to circa 1830 to 1840's. I have listed this cup and saucer as Bohemian as I feel it is a little light in weight to be German.

SIZE:  The cup measures 4 inches to top of handle and 3 5/8 in at widest point. The saucer measures 5 3/4 inches in diameter.  Weighs 288 g before packing.

CONDITION:   Both cup and saucer have no chips, cracks or restoration and ring well when tapped. The cup is in very good condition and the gilt inscription in good order. Two of the paw feet have small chips to the front. To the outside of the cup there are two areas of gilt ware. The saucer is in good condition but does have heavy gilt ware to the border and minor gilt ware to the two inner gilt bands.
