The September 1909 Style Book Monthly Edition – Illustrating the Ladies’ Home Journal Patterns. The Home Patten Co., Publishers, New York. Vol. Five No. Eight, 1909. As presented by The Big Store, Casselton, N. D.
The
Style Book is printed on newspaper stock.
It consists of 16 pages including covers and measures, approximately, 14
x 10 ½ inches. The covers and pages are tanned,
stained, chipped, and worn. Cover has pencil. Binding is
still somewhat tight but is showing wear at the center staple. The Style Book has been folded in half and is
tearing along that fold. It has edge chipping
and corner folds.
Ladies Home Journal Patterns started in 1904 and were published by the Home Pattern Company, a branch of Conde Nast, which also published patterns under their own name. Ladies Home Journal Patterns were distributed via the popular magazine of the same name, but also sold over the counter, starting in 1905. They seem to have disappeared by 1920.
An
excellent resource for those doing Edwardian or Steampunk clothing or for those
trying to date McCall Sewing Patterns
The ‘Vintage Patterns Company’ is printed only on the photos used for this listing. The words are not on the actual pages that you will receive.
The magazine cannot be shipped media mail as it is against postal policy to use media mail for anything with advertising…and the USPS does not care if the advertising is old.
All magazines are vintage items and sold…AS IS. Although I maintain a smoke-free and a
pet-free studio, I have no control over where items have been previously. I attempt to represent my goods as honestly
as possible, but sometimes something will get by. If you have any doubts about an item, E-MAIL
ME! I want to make sure that you will be
pleased with your purchase.
