Here we have an unusual and elusive pair of covers bearing stamps of the Simpsons comic book characters -- Homer, Lisa  and Bart -- sent to Europe. They are the 44-cent stamps issued in 2009. The covers have minor wear from international postal handling.

First we have a small envelope bearing a Homer stamp, plus a Christmas stamp and five American artefacts stamps (one damaged at right) from one Norma Bvanocore of W 6th St., Brooklyn NY, to a Mr Tony Neale, Grosvenor Road, Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, England.

Then we have an envelope picturing Bart and Lisa with two 5-cent artefacts stamps making up the airmail postage. They are tied by a Roanoke VA laser jet cancel of 28 May 2009. The sender was Allen Johnson II of Willow Creek Road, Rocky Mount VA, and the recipient was Dietmar Bebauer, Voehringen, Germany. The cover bears a nice home-made air mail label picturing a small airplane.

An appealing and smile-inducing pair of envelopes for Simpsons fans to Europe, where the family is just about as popular as they are Stateside.

At the same time I'm listing a group of envelopes with stamps of comics characters. I always combine postage.

The postage on this lot is higher than I would like, which is down to Royal Mail rates and other charges beyond my control such as eBay and PayPal commissions. I use good British stamps to send all my lots and these should result in collectable stamps cancelled by hand in my village post office for the buyer.

As I have some buy-it-now lots, anyone who makes a purchase might want to look at them before paying. If you buy more than one item, please wait for my invoice so I can combine postage

When payment is received by teatime British time (it is usually dished up about 4:30) I normally post the item the next morning. Our village post office is closed on Saturdays, however, so if you pay on Friday the item will not go out until the following Monday.
