Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a rare older RCA EC3 model "banquet" microphone desk stand that I believe was manufactured in the 1940's and possibly earlier. I have only ever seen a few of these stands over the past 12 years and have sold a few myself. These are quite hard to come by and is quite large for a desk stand making it perfect for your older RCA 77DX, 44BX, BK5A and 74B model mics.

This EC3 is an uber heavy, thick cast iron design with a two tier "waterfall" design that has a classier deco type vibe which was very popular in the 1930's and 1940's. This EC3 comes with the short 2 inch riser and two chrome RCA adapters. The first chrome adapter is a MA-2308 adapter that sits on the stand itself and allows you to mount any microphone clip and most screw on type microphones. The second adapter is an AD-1 adapter that screws onto the MA 2308 and allows you to mount any older RCA screw on mic with the standard RCA male 1/2 inch pipe thread that it was designed to accept. You'd use the AD-1 adapter with your typical RCA 77DX microphone.

This RCA EC3 stand gives you several options to work with. You'll see I used a Shure 55 "Fatboy" microphone in pics # 4 & 5 so you can see just how large this banquet stand is and how well it works with those larger older mics.

The EC3 makes a very attractive and stable platform. It's very heavy as well being about 3 1/2 pounds which is far heavier than a typical stand of this era. The sheer weight of this stand would have given any mic owner peace of mind that their mic wont tip over easily.

The mic stand is appx 7 1/2 inches wide X 7 inches tall.

The original black paint shows some extremely lite wear but it's free of any paint chips or deep scratches. The short riser does show a deep scratch but the RCA adapters are perfect.

The satin chrome center accent piece also shows some lite corrosion and tiny pitting.

This stand has an older green foam pad that keeps the stand from scratching any surface it sits on. The foam pad is in good condition as well with some small wear. You can remove it if you'd like but I'm leaving it alone as it works as intended.

This mic stand is an easy 8 on a scale of 1 - 10 in the cosmetic department. It will make for a great display piece with your mic anywhere in the home, office or studio and the rarity of it makes it even more desirable. This stand will only go up in value.

If you need a rare older desk stand for that old RCA or other vintage mic...this is the one.
I should note as well that this is the first one I have had to offer in 3 years and I probably won't have another to offer in a very long time.

MICROPHONE SHOWN ON STAND IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.
