This Original handwoven vintage condition pillow cushion cover is a genuine Afghan tribal handmade Baluch ethnic design hand woven natural woolen pillow cover. The material used in making this pillow cover is 100% natural sheep wool and sometimes mixed with silk, which is not only durable, but also free from chemical allergens. Originally made by Afghan craftsmen and craftswomen who have been making rugs and such pillow covers for centuries. There is a clear photo from the back of the cover for identification of hand work. Each of these covers take weeks to finish, each strand of wool and silk is hand knotted individually one by one, having the deigns memorized by the artist or using very old design blueprint, which only they can understand. Each knot has to be placed in a perfection position to make the design clear, but minor human errors are still unavoidable, which gives these rugs the soul of human touch.
This one of a kind pillowcover is both a beautiful home décor and practical for use, being made from one of the most wonderful natural yarns ‘wool’. The organic vegetable dyed wool is a beautiful natural fiber which usually contains high levels of lanolin making it very practical. This pillowcover is woven using organic hand dyed wool in both the warp and the weft. It can also be used as a wall hanging display.
