WW2 Imperial Japanese Order of the Sacred Treasure 5th class medal. The Sacred Treasure award was established in 1888 and is the only Japanese medal that has a triangular fold in the ribbon.

The solid silver medal was awarded in eight classes, from 8th up to 1st for long and/or meritorious military service. The higher classes of the medal were usually reserved for officers.

The medal has the traditional Japanese hook and eye fixing and is complete with lapel badge, all in its original black lacquered presentation box.

Good wartime example.
