Condition

The portfolio is in Very condition. It measures 22" x 29". There are no bookplates or markings of any kind. The pages are clean and free of any foxing. The portfolio case is in very good condition. It has some light wear. This portfolio consists 6 silk screen color prints by Maurice Sendak, Barry Moser, Chris Van Allsburg of The Polar Express, Seymour Chwast, Daniel Pelavin, and Guy Billout. Each illustration is signed by their artist. This is a Limited edition, with this portfolio being one of only 300 copies.  A rare find in this condition.

Maurice Bernard Sendak ( 1928 –  2012) was an American illustrator and writer of children's books. He became widely known for his book Where the Wild Things Are, first published in 1963.  Born to Jewish-Polish parents, his childhood was affected by the death of many of his family members during the Holocaust. Sendak also wrote works such as In the Night Kitchen, Outside Over There, and illustrated many works by other authors including the Little Bear books by Else Holmelund Minarik.
