The ethereal Sadako, Screatures Doll #056, is a rare sweet treat indeed.

She is a scarce 1970s Sekiguchi 'Printemps' Doll. She came to me with her honey blonde hair heavily matted and snapping at the roots, and with faceup and nails done by a child with nail polish and other unspeakable mediums. I made it my duty to give her a makeover and bring her back carefully from the dead. She is now a one of a kind beauty.

I've kept her original phantom blue eyes which look black as twin voids then flash and glow quite eerily in certain light or when you move her, and she has a soft, feminine faceup and lovely long mink lashes. Her ebony locks cascade like a tangle of vines down to her dainty ankles- it is a very basic wig made by me and is removable should you wish to change her look.

I made her entire outfit using a mix of modern and deadstock vintage fabrics and trims which I've collected over the years for just such a special project. It is all completely removable in case you'd like to style her differently.

Included are:

~ an Edwardian-esque prairie style dress made using quality lace, mesh and velvet trims, embellished with faux pearls, braid and a darling little cameo charm

~ lace bloomers/pantaloons with ribbon bows and lace edging

~ headdress with crochet lace, velvet, paper and lace flowers, guipure lace, ribbon, more lace! and pearl trims

~a stunning vintage crochet shawl with vintage Japanese pearl and glass bead motif on the back

~floral knee high socks

~nude knee high socks (to be worn under the floral socks)

~tan and black thigh high striped stockings

~a cute shoulder bag in Earthy toned flower embroidery to contrast with her outfit (she keeps her tiny teddy bear in there, along with a clear quarts tumbled crystal chip, a paper flower, 2 ornate keys on a satin ribbon that open doors only she can see along with a few other little treasures)

~a clothbound journal I made for her

~handmade black genuine suede slip on shoes

She is a vintage doll, about 50 years old, and as such has some marks on her cloth body and a stitching repair on her right arm done by her previous owner which has made her hand turn outwards. I think it adds to her unique charm. There is also a pink marker spot on one of her plastic legs which I couldn't remove. Please see last 8 photos for details. She is clean, does not have any bad smells, but has the aforementioned flaws, all of which are covered up by her clothing.

She stands 60cm or 23.5" tall. She does not stand alone and was originally desgined to be displayed sitting on a bed, in a chair or on a shelf. You could find a stand for her if you wish to display her standing.

Sadako is a quiet girl with a wild, florid imagination. She is a forest spirit; a willow-the-wisp that will enchant you with her beauty and lead you deeper among the trees where you will find yourself lost in an enchanting new realm that you'll never want to leave. Friend to faeries, quirky folk, and to those who wander where airy voices lead. With a gentle energy about her, she seemed to smile as I chose just the right trims and fabrics for her clothes. In her early teens, she's not quite ready to abandon her childhood delights, especially her beloved teddy.

She is a collector's doll, designed for display only. She is not a toy suitable for young children.
