We are offering for sale this very nice early antique E. Ingraham mantel or shelf clock. This clock is 24 1/2" tall, 15 3/4" wide and 5" deep and dates from the late 1800's. This clock is an 8-day time and strike clock; it runs very well and strikes with the number of hours on the hour and once at the bottom of the hour. The gong and original brass movement are both marked E. Ingraham. The movement also has patent dates of Oct. 78 and Nov. 79.
The wood case has a nicely aged, darkened patina. The door stencil features an interesting design with a scroll, flowers and what looks like a large flower in a circle with only slight wear. The condition overall is very good. There is a small crack in the wood decorative piece to the right of the door (see photo) which is barely noticeable. The dial appears to have been replaced. It has the alarm feature which has not been tested. The key is included but is not original.
As with all antique clocks, there may be need for slight adjustment after shipping. Thanks for looking and be sure to check out our ebay store for a variety of interesting quality items including many more nice clocks.
