1982 G.I. JOE VAMP

All FOUR tires are attached tight, possess the hubcaps and roll just fine. The chassis fits tight to the main black body - the front tab is still intact. The front bumper bar is intact and fits snug. The two black rear cooling panels are present and fit snug. The Machine gun support fits tight to the body and attaches to the Twin gun fine - it also rotates smoothly, pin still functions and the female key looks great. The Twin gun doesn't possess the simulated shooting feautre nor the tab - this may be from the Revco model set. The rear Gas can basket fits snug and holds two black Tiger Sting gas-cans. The shift stick is still intact on the driver's side.  The custom aftermarket color-matching green steering wheel fits tight and looks great. The rear hitch is intact.

Please look at the multiple pictures of every angle I have provided, in high resolution, to make your own decision on the grade of the item - good luck finding another sale where this much detail is disclosed!

Much of the technology for the Vehicle: Attack/Multi-Purpose (V.A.M.P.) is taken from conventional 4-WD military vehicles but it has more than proven itself to be tough. It has since been one of the most oft-used vehicles in the G.I. Joe arsenal of vehicles.

Based on the Lamborghini Cheetah, the VAMP is powered by a 4.8 liter V-12 fuel injected twin turbo engine that enables it to reach speeds of 140mph and a range of 550 miles. The engine is powerful enough to tow to battle a larger weapons system such a H.A.L. or a F.L.A.K. Its primary offensive weaponry is a pair of 7.62mm machine guns mounted on its ventilator intakes right at the back. The guns can be operated with a computer by the driver's seat. The computer is smart enough to choose its targets via pre-programming thus allowing the driver to concentrate on maneuvering.

The Vehicle Attack / Multi-Purpose combat vehicle, or V.A.M.P. as it is affectionately known, is a truly all-terrain, jeep-like assault weapon. This heavily armed and armored vehicle has a 550 mile maximum range, and seats a driver and passenger comfortably. It possesses these attributes and utilities:

.50 Cal Machine Guns: these twin-mounted, swivel-based, computer-synchronized machine guns allow for an amazing amount of firepower. Furthermore, it can fire twenty bursts before it requires an ammo reload.

7.62 Millimeter Machine Gun: this hood-mounted, front-aiming secondary gun isn't as versatile as the twin 50 cal cannons mounted on the rear of the V.A.M.P., but this assault rifle can fire about ten bursts before a reload is required.

Communications Suite: the V.A.M.P. is equipped with a radio transceiver system, allowing the driver to send battle-field data to a central command, and then receive new orders in turn, it has a maximum range of about 100 miles.

First Aid Kit: nestled within the outer wall of the passenger compartment on the mark 1 V.A.M.P. lies a fully stocked first aid kit, should the V.A.M.P.'s driver (or passengers) have a sudden need of emergency treatment. It has everything one needs to administer medical aid in the field.

Halogen Lamps: the V.A.M.P.'s headlights are quartz-halogen bulbs that can illuminate an area with remarkable ability. They are equipped with an electrical defrost capability, allowing them to cook ice and muck clean off of them in the event that this is necessary.

Roll-Cage: while the V.A.M.P. doesn't actually offer it's driver or passenger (it seats two comfortably) any protection, in a game mechanics sense, its roll-cage allows for excellent  protection from collision or incidental damage in the event that the V.A.M.P. experiences a roll or crash.

Self-Sealing Gas Cans: these bizarre gas cans have an intermediate layer between the gas and the can itself, a layer of material that immediately seals the can in the event that it is punctured (or shot), preventing a loss of fuel or explosion.

Specialty Tires: these extremely expensive tires are of the off-road, self-sealing variety, and can withstand remarkable damage before being disabled. Also, these are flotation tires, allowing the V.A.M.P. to even drive on water for short, short periods of time before it sinks.

Winch: this front-mounted, heavy-duty instrument allows the V.A.M.P. to pull any manner of vehicles, objects, or people around. It can effectively do this allowing it to move a maximum weight of one ton before the high tensile strength wire cable will snap.

Clutch was a mechanic at Manny's Mean Machines and was heavily involved in racing street machines prior to enlistment. Graduated: Advanced Infantry Training; Covert Ops School; Executive Bodyguard School; Ranger School. Qualified expert: M-14; M-16; M-1911A1; M-3A1; M-79; M-60.

"He greases his hair with motor oil, rarely shaves, and chews on the same toothpick for months. Clutch still calls women "chicks!

Born in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Lance grew up as a hopeless grease monkey, loving cars and little else while a teen. In fact, his first job involved his working for his uncle at an auto-garage. Lance eventually 'grew up' (as much as he could), and enlisted in the Army to forge himself a future.  After he finished basic training, Lance entered (and graduated from) several armored and wheeled vehicle training schools, and actually saved Colonel Abernathy from mercenary assassins once. This was what landed him a position in Special Counter-Terrorist Group Delta, code-named Gi Joe!

As one of the original members of Gi Joe, Lance has been on dozens of missions against the vicious terrorist organization known as Cobra, a ruthless band of cut-throats and mercenaries ruled by a disillusioned businessman with paranoid tendencies and delusions of grandeur.  Such missions included the invasion of Springfield, a town that had been used by Cobra in the States as their main headquarters, and participation in a civil war on Cobra Island (once the terrorists went legit for a time) between Cobra Commander and the genetically engineered Serpentor.

Furthermore, Lance has managed to run afoul of several Cobra agents while on leave with his good pal Rock 'n' Roll on occasion, usually when the duo (either by themselves or with Breaker) got in the way of one of the destructive Dreadnoks' joyride / rampage fests. This has happened at least twice.  The first time this occurred, Clutch, Rock 'n' Roll, and Breaker were on leave after being moved off of field duty, and on their road trip to Malibu Beach, the Dreadnoks attacked Rock 'n' Roll's ride, causing the trio of Joes to chase them down until they crashed, due to a hologram generated by Zartan's stolen bike.  The trio eventually got their payback, however. While they were being carted away in an ambulance after their wreck, the Joes saw the Dreadnoks fleeing the scene of another crime they'd committed, and (seeing through Zartan's bike's camouflage) smashed the Dreadnoks and their bikes up real good.

The second time Clutch and Rock 'n Roll ran into the Dreadnoks involved the duo's vacation to a town that had transformed itself into Broca Beach. This town was actually a Cobra front, from which Zarana was running all of Cobra's various money-making plots, such as pyramid schemes, real estate fraud, etc...  The two Joes had ran into several cops sporting rings with a Cobra sigil on it, and tried to leave, though they were recognized by the Dreadnoks as they fled, leading to their eventual capture. Taking advantage of this, Zarana reprogrammed their minds with the late Doctor Venom's brain-wave scanner.  Her ultimate goal involved letting the Joes go, and slipping them into the Pit, at which point she would trigger a murderous rampage within the two brainwashed men, though this failed when their inherent morals prevented them from acting against their pals and their base.

While they were later cleared of any brain damage after this incident, Zarana had done her work all too well, and Clutch and Rock 'n Roll never did figure out where they were reprogrammed. In fact, they couldn't remember what that happened during their trip to Broca Beach - or even that they'd been there.

Lance was a member of the team for the duration of its existence, as a vehicular combatant when not testing out new, prototype equipment for use in the war against Cobra. Though Gi Joe was disbanded in 1994, a recent rise in Cobra activity has caused the team to be activated once again.

PASSENGER LANARD SOLDIER

LANARD TROOPER: All original parts, he has a good O-ring, no screw rust, little paint/play wear and good joints, he comes with the black submachine gun and the figure stand pictured.

Lanard Toys was founded in 1978 and based in Hong-Kong, although they have design centers in Europe and the U.S.A. Even if they were founded in 1978, almost nothing is known of this company before 1986, the year in which they started their production of “the Corps!” line. This line was previously known as “Gung-Ho!”, but due to a lawsuit from Hasbro in 1988, “Gung-Ho!” became “the Corps!”.

During many years, “the Corps!” was the only toy line available in their catalog. This line was very profitable, even after the disappearance of Hasbro’s G.I. Joe in 1994, because Lanard developed itself to a big toy company, multiplying the number of toy lines while improving the quality of their products.

There is unfortunately not much more information on the web about the company. If you try searching information about them, you’ll come to two very polemic affairs. First is the trademark infringement claim from GM in 2006, and the second is the violation of a Hasbro patent in 2010.

The first affair had a great impact in the media, as Lanard was selling an unauthorized military vehicle which was very similar to the Humvee, even the words “Hyper-Humvee” appeared on the boxes. Lanard, was forced to cease production.
