VINTAGE ART DECO 18CT GOLD LADIES DIAMOND ROLEX WATCH, WORKING

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A charming vintage ladies diamond Rolex watch from the Art Deco era, c1930! The working Rolex watch is made of 18ct yellow gold and white gold bezel with a recent stainless-steel band attached.

Formed in an elegant Deco Tonneau shape, the case dazzles with thirty-nine diamonds, (two teeny side ones are missing but barely go amiss). The varying sized diamonds are grain-set flush amongst winding milgrain accented grooves exemplifying the wonderful Art Deco era in which the watch was made. Additionally, lovely hand engraved scrolls edged with milgraining decorates the sides of the case.

The Rolex watch has an original silver 'sunburst' engine-turned dial with black numerals, minute markers, and Breguet (moon - tipped) hands which reads the time with ease. The dial is signed ROLEX to the top.

Inside the case reveals an original mechanical 15 jewel Rolex movement; signed 'ROLEX' 'PATENT', '15 JEWELS, 'SWISS MADE'. A simple wind of the crown to kick-start the cogs is needed every time it's worn. The watch currently works within 24 hours, though there is no guarantee as the watch has not had a recent service.

Once the movement is removed from the case, the internal case back reveals numerous stamps (typical of varied vintage Rolex watches); stamps include 'ROLEX' '7 WORLD'S RECORDS' 'GOLD MEDAL' GENEVA-SUISSE, '18K', and a Swiss gold guarantee hallmark 'head of Helvetia'. Numerous hand-inscriptions by watchmakers can also be seen inside the case - a sign that the watch was regularly serviced and well maintained. The serial number of the Rolex watch is 4659 and model reference is 102, as indicated by the stamps to the external case back.

A recent (non-original) stainless steel herringbone style band accompanies the Rolex watch, albeit this could easily be changed to suit your desired taste or look. Length of the watch with current band measures 18cm with around 1cm expansion of the back spring-loaded links.

A rare and feminine vintage watch by one of the most superior watch brands of all time, Rolex! Perfect for special occasions, as with most watches of this era we do not recommend this watch for everyday wear - to be worn and treated with extra care.

Rolex watch would be accompanied with photo purchase/authetincity report
