William Mitchell Italic Pen No 0288/5 Vintage Dip Pen Nibs for Italic Writers

William Mitchell still make these so I guess they have staying power. These Italic nibs, are not to be confused with the round hand range.
These are "5" which are the pointiest of the 0288 series.
There are 12 in a pack.

These nibs are brass (i think) they wont stick to a magnet anyway. They will have a protective coating.
These pointed nibs are good for cursive writing, scripts and collecting. Drawing with them is "interesting"

Box not included.

Before Use
Remember new nibs need cleaned/degreased. You will find people giving advice to use soap, spit, flame, acetone, or potatoes. All of these methods work. However high temps are used to manufacture nibs, so flame will likely reduce its life span. There are better uses for a potato.
You want the ink to adhere like paint to the nib; if it beads up like water on glass, then it needs degreasing. Generally a quick inky rub does the job.
