Boldly SIGNED on the title page by the celebrated author!

NOT inscribed to anyone, simply SIGNED by the great Yann Martel!

Please note there is an additional signature present on this page!

Initially, we believed the other signature might be of some importance. Unfortunately, we have been unable to ascertain, with an acceptable degree of certainty, the identity of the other individual who also put their signature on this page.

For this reason, we MUST proceed with an abundance of caution and assume the other signature is simply the name of a previous owner.

The additional signature adds no monetary value or has any cultural significance. If anything, the additional signature should be viewed as an unfortunate flaw!

Once again, we want to repeat that there is another signature present on the same page as the Yann Martel signature and we believe this signature is simply the name of a previous owner.

A First U.S. Edition/Early Printing.

Both "First U.S. edition" and "1st ed." are clearly stated on the copyright page along with some letters.

Please remember this is NOT the First Edition/First Printing of this title!

This is an Early Printing of the First U.S. Edition.

Once again, we want to repeat that this is NOT a First Edition/First Printing.

This is NOT the First Printing of the First U.S. Edition.

We also want to clearly state that this is the U.S. Edition, NOT to be confused with the Canadian or U.K. Edition.
