A Bastet cat, sometimes called a Bast, is a goddess of ancient Egyptian religion.

Cobra snake seems to be coming out of the cat's chest.

Sides of base adorned with hyroglyphics.

Black matte finish - feels like a lightweight stone.

Purchased at Boston museum during Egyptian exhibit.

Original tag on bottom.

Excellent condition.

Lovely display piece.
