• This is a Mexican dance mask that is used for carnival dancers, The mask is designed to represent the “huehue,” a Nahuatl word that translates into Spanish as “ancient” or “wise.”
• The old witch mask is made of carton papier mâché with fiber hair. The witch has bright eyes and two gold teeth. The face features are painted on with tufts of black hair over the eyebrows. There is a tall and pointy witch hat.
• The mask measures 14 inches in length measured down the middle of the face x about 6 inches across at the widest. It is about 4 inches in depth from the nose or chin.
• Because this is handmade piece of art and is one-of-a-kind, one could expect to find irregularities. There are several places where you might see unpainted carton or a bit of cracked paint. Please review the photos carefully.
