Presenting an exceptionally well-maintained 1988 Orville By Gibson ES-335—an elusive gem, adorned in a rare and eloquently aged Blonde Natural finish, complemented by a rich, dark Indian rosewood fretboard.

Orville by Gibson, paying homage to the legendary Gibson founder Orville Henry Gibson, emerged from a collaboration between Gibson USA and Yamano Gakki in Japan. These guitars, bearing the Gibson brand, are meticulously crafted in Japan and hold full authorisation.

Sought after and originally intended exclusively for the Japanese market, the Terada Factory-produced Orville by Gibson ES-335s stand out as some of the highest-quality Made in Japan (MIJ) Gibson Branded Semi-Acoustics. Our 335, acquired through careful sourcing and importation from Japan, boasts stock Gibson Pat No. 2737-842 Humbucker Pickups, a 60’s Slim-Taper neck profile, and a long tenon neck joint. Notably, as difficult as these models are to source, the Blonde variants are indeed near-impossible to find!

Assessing its condition, our Orville stands out as an exceptionally well-preserved specimen, displaying minimal signs of play wear. A discerning eye might catch the occasional light surface mark, but there are no unpleasant dings or damage to the wood. The frets exhibit minimal wear, promising plenty of life still, and while the stock nickel hardware has developed a slight tarnish, it only adds to this 335s tasteful aesthetic. 

All original electronics perform flawlessly, including the Gibson USA Made PAT No. 2737-842 Humbucker Pickups, showcasing the 335's authentic, smooth, and creamy tones. This particular instrument weighs in at 7.93lbs.

It’s been setup with a fresh set of 10-46 strings and has undergone a clean of the body, fretboard and electronics, though nothing too invasive, as we feel it’s important to not take away from its beautiful vintage patina!
