Description:

STUART SONS FOR LIBERTY & CO PEACOCK EYE TRAILED GLASS BOWL C1905

(WHITEFRIARS INTEREST)

This is an outstanding example of this style of Bowl – handmade with a very nice pontil mark – see photos –

The Colours are amazing – the Peacock feathers stand out amongst other examples – the Blue eyes shines out from the bright green feather – the skill in achieving this quality is only seen from the very best glass artists – all hand blown, it is hard to belive that somebody was capable of producing such a beautiful glass bowl.

Now I have had a good look at current and historic examples of this style of bowl and they do vary in price, It obviously depends on the condition, but it also depends greatly on the quality of the peacock feathers, the colours, some do not have any or very little of the eye blue, some examples have vastly differing sizes of the peacock feathers, the size and shapes of the bowls also varies.

This example is the very best I have seen and I am not just saying that as I am selling it – it is a fact – have a good look at the photos and then have a look at every other example you can find – if you do not agree then do not buy it, on the other hand if you do agree and I am absolutely positive that you will, then give it serious consideration – I don’t think you will get another chance to find one of this quality.
