Vintage Civil War watercolor/gouache and ink on illustration board, ironclads firing on fortified coastline, possibly the Battle of Arkansas Post and the capture of Fort Hindman. Unsigned, attributed to George Tuckwell (1919-2000), for an unknown publication, possibly for Fighting Ships, c. early 1970s. 7" x 9 1/4", on an 8" x 10" board with irregular wavy edges.

Tuckwell illustrated ‘Fighting Ships (1971) and The Look-It-Up Book of Transport (1971), among many others; his bio the latter publication: “George Tuckwell is an English artist who served as a fighter pilot with the Royal Air Force during World War II. He graduated from Sir John Cass College and Goldsmiths College with a National Diploma of Design. He has illustrated a number of books and his paintings have been shown both in England and the United States.”
