Sterling silver dinner fork by Gorham in the 'Versailles' pattern, as designed by F. Antoine Heller. While the pattern was in production from 1888 until 1991, these pieces would have been manufactured between 1888 and 1900, as indicated by the mark just below the tines.

Fork is 17cm in length, and 2.5cm in width.

In the Versailles pattern, relief sculptures of different Classical figures drawn from the palace decorate each component, infinite in grace and swimming in Classical motifs. Twenty-four iconic images from the famous art and architecture - from the walls, the ceilings, the balustrades, statues, and mirrors - are adapted to adorn the flatware.
