Comments

This silver commemorative coin depicting Caucasian Forest Cat has been issued by the Central Bank of Armenia under the International Program "Wild World of Caucasus". The Program includes animals that are protected under the Red Book of Armenia.

In Armenia, Caucasian Forest Cat can be seen in forests of the southern regions. Hollows of old-grown trees, rocky crevices and clefts, and burrows are home to Caucasian Forest Cat. This species has tended to reduce due to intensified human activity and inadequate combat against vermin.
