Fairing Bear with Telescope
This is a German Fairing figurine that features a white teddy bear ready to peer through his large telescope. When these figurines were made, they were of whimsical figures and were given the name Fairings because they were sold at town, state and world fairs as souvenirs. Made in Germany, most fairings were mass-produced, although some were molded individuals. This one is beautifully painted and very well preserved.
Teddy Bears were made for the American market, named after Teddy Roosevelt.
This figurine is a tray with green telescope and a white teddy bear. The hat color varies from white to green. The glaze is in excellent antique condition. There are no chips and no cracks. This cute piece displays well. It measures about 5 inches wide by 3 inches tall.
