Antique early BENGALL razor by T. R Cadman and sons of Sheffield. Original Bakelite handle/scales, rarer size of 5/8 in original box, But selling at same price as I sell 3/4 bengalls.

I have several decades experience in using, restoring and forging blades. Tested to ensure heat treatment has not been lost.

Wonderful piece of history, was a joy to restore and use. Some slight pitting consistent with age but overall great condition. Some original grind lines remain.

All my work is done by hand to ensure no damage to the heat treatment by power tools, taking 6+ hours.

This blade has never looked better. THE PROCESS….

Blade polished with Sandpaper 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1500, 1800,2k, 2.5k, 3k, 5k, 7k, 10k

Polish with cotton pads and diamond paste- 5micron, 2,micron, 1micron

Handle polished

Blade sharpening, 1000 bevel setting stone Shapton stones to 12k, naniwa 12k ( equivalent to 16 shapton scale), stropped, finished on Charnley Forest and 20 strop laps on Charnley also. Passes hanging hair test, smooth shave.

I work on all of my blades out of the love of it. I found joy in finding amazing pieces of history that had been neglected and returning them to exceptional quality so they can be used, loved and appreciated once again.
