Uchida S type 0.5 Mechanical Pencil Vintage Japan with Faber Refills.

This Uchida S type twist propel mechanism pencil extends the lead by twisting the upper body of the pencil. The mechanism still works exactly as it should, it’s very smooth and a pleasure to use.

The S type is the more basic sibling of the E and D types which came with fancier grips and different colours.

This is however still a really good introduction to more modern twist propel pencils, and there is very little wear to the body or innards of this pencil.

The hexagonal (might be octagonal) section at the top of the grip has almost no wear, which is very good for a pencil of this age, and the body only has a few micro scratches.

I’ve included the original instruction sheet backed on cardboard and a pack of Faber Castell 0.5 HB refills as shown in the picture (last picture is the alternative refills, I usually have a few different brands in stock).
