Portmeirion slim cylinder/bud vase featuring the popular Botanic Garden Meadow Saffron Colchicum and Moth Design.

Made in Staffordshire, England circa 1970s.

The design is retired and rare and thus hard to find.

The green trophy backstamp on the vase says “The Botanic Garden circa 1818, Portmeirion, Susan Williams-Ellis, Made in England, 1972” and “Dishwasher proof, Oven to Table, Freezer & Microwave Safe"

Portmeirion artist Susan Ellis-Williams came up with the idea for Botanic Garden in 1972, when she was looking through rare books and discovered a volume of beautiful, meticulously drawn floral illustrations. The launch of Botanic Garden included 28 different flowers and was an immediate success!

A beautiful addition to any collection of Portmeirion Botanic Garden items.
