This beautiful time warp example indicates just 28200 miles with Mot's going back 43 years! The previous owner covered an average of just 28 miles per year during his 32 year ownership (docmented) between 1980 and 2012 when it was placed in dry storage until it emerged in early 2023. The condition and originality of this fun 1950's car is amazing! The body, paintwork and underside appears to be very original with no signs of repairs, replacement panels or welding. The doors, wings, wheel arches, bonnet, front and rear panels and under bonnet are excellent. The underside, sills, floor pans are solid, very original and waxoyle rust protected. The 50's retro interior is similarly as good and a lovely place to be, with all original chrome switches etc in excellent condition, even the cigarette lighter still works! The paintwork is superb with a lovely depth of shine. Mechanically the well proven Austin 1500cc B-series engine starts on the button with just a touch of choke sounding just as it should. The standard specification in 1957 included a three speed column gearchange, built in original factory fitted MW/LW radio, adjustable bench seat, twin sun visors, rear view mirror, ashtray, heater plus one optional extra available of Whitewall tyres which this car has! Recent new exhaust, tyres, rear shock absorbers and engine service including oil change and new plugs. The car has had only three former registered keepers (two private plus the suppling dealer)It has a history file with many previous Mot's, original owners manual and brochure, plus a Metroplitan parts, service and technical data booklet compiled by the Metropolitan owners club This car really represents the goldon age of the 1950's, a hoot to drive, turning many amused heads, and with a listed top speed of 76mph, it will easily keep up with modern traffic. Although it qualifies as Mot exempt, the car has a full 12 months Mot with no advisories.
