A pretty 9ct Gold Suffragette necklace decorated with seed pearls, six amethyst and three peridot gemstones.

The centre is set with a circle-cut amethyst gemstone inside a leafy wreath of seed pearls. The necklace has been created in a lavalier style, with three peridot gemstones dropping down lines of seed pearls to the bottom, where they hang delicately.

These types of pendants were named Lavalier pendants popularised by the Duchesse de la Valliere, a mistress of King Louis XIV of France. The colours of the stones are symbols of the women’s Suffragette movement which took place in the early 20th century. Green for Hope, White for Purity and Violet for Loyalty, Which also meant Give Women Votes!

It is in excellent original condition and is a truly beautiful brooch.

This exquisite design, with its amethysts having a rare deep purple hue, makes a gorgeous gift for a loved one.

Stamped 9ct on the reverse near the bottom.
