Davenport Longport Old Imari pattern no. 2614 7 in. pitcher with a slightly conical body embellished by a band of raised pearls or dots just below the V-shape spout, and a cable- or rope-molded, D-shape handle; inset flat bottom. Decoration, which includes two scroll-top panels and asymmetrical floral motifs, is painted entirely by hand in underglaze dark cobalt blue and overglaze coral red and pale peach (on the handle and spout), with gilding over all the designs and around the rim. Partial red backstamp ("DAVENPORT / LONGPORT / STAFFORDSHIRE", used ca. 1870-1886) near center underside with pattern number "2614" painted below (visible in raking light).
