Pre-Islamic Revolution, post-WWII, mid-20th century Persian figurative art is in the tradition of the much earlier, time-honored Persian miniature opaque watercolor paintings on paper, from as early as the 15th to late 19th century. The painted surface is largely free of any noticeable scuffs, abrasions, stains (light or dark) or paint loss. This Persian opaque 

watercolor figurative painting, is done in the manner of much earlier Persian illuminated miniature 

paintings on paper, found in antique Persian, 

illustrated literary manuscripts. The painting is framed in an original, absolutely gorgeous, inlaid, micro-mosaic, wooden picture frame, with only some very minor loss & is under glass. The image features a beautiful young woman, perhaps a Persian princess, in traditional silk pantaloons, sleeved blouse, silk petticoat & wearing Persian slippers, sitting on a rocky bluff under a gilded, leafy tree, napping & apparently dreaming of a young, handsome prince or lover, who is away or who perhaps doesn't understand her romantic affection for him, with the young man nearly materializing behind her, realized extremely delicately with only red painted line, holding a carafe of wine or water. Pre-Islamic Revolution. Very fine & very rare.
