The University of Szeged is one of Hungary’s leading institutions of higher education, qualifi ed as a research university since 2010 and an ‘excellent’ university since 2013. Its roots reach back to the University of Kolozsvár (now Cluj-Napoca), which was founded in 1581 (440 years ago). The university relocated to Szeged after the Treaty of Trianon in 1921, marking the start of higher education in Szeged. The university’s historical academic signifi cance is underlined by its illustrious Hungarian and international faculty, including Albert Szent-Györgyi, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1937 for his research there. The University of Szeged ranks as the best Hungarian university in the British Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) international list of higher education institutions, with tertiary instruction in 13 fi elds. In the spirit of life-long learning, the University’s twelve faculties and Teacher Training Centre offer hundreds of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programmes, specialised training and adult education courses, covering subjects ranging from healthcare, humanities, economics, law, science and pedagogy to agriculture, engineering and fine arts.

In other words, the coin shows no signs of wear on any of its surfaces. Since most modern coins are mass-produced in large quantities, it is common that the coin may have small nicks and scrapes on its surface from the production process and transported in bags and bins. These minor imperfections are not from the coin circulating in commerce, and hence the coin is still considered an uncirculated coin.
