This mid century studio pottery trivet or wall plaque is in excellent vintage condition. Designed like a thick gingerbread cookie with creamy icing, it almost looks good enough to eat!

Hand crafted in grainy brown clay, the trivet is shaped like a contented cat calmly surveying his surroundings. It features a cream colored glaze with scattered light brown speckles — neutral decoration that will work beautifully with any decor. Two rows of cut-out hearts highlight the trivet’s robust nature and complete the design.

Measuring about 7 1/2” tall and 8 1/2” wide, this unsigned trivet is 1/2” thick. It’s a substantial piece, weighing 1 pound 6 ounces. Tiny cork feet on its textured, unglazed back protect surfaces from scratching when it’s in use. A hole near the top facilitates hanging for storage or display, and a leather strap is included for this purpose.

This trivet will add a whimsical touch to the kitchen and would make a great gift for your favorite cat lover or collector of mid century studio pottery. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, stains or crazing. The glaze is fully intact with no scratching or scuffing, the leather strap is like new, and the cork feet show wear but are very serviceable. Please note that the trivet is not quite perfectly straight when hung as a wall plaque.
