DESCRIPTION:
Folkwear Paper Sewing Pattern #124
The Bolivian Milkmaid's Jacket
Independent Woman-Owned USA Designer (North Carolina) - in business for almost 50 years!
Here's what the back envelope says,

"These short jackets, worn today by women of the Altiplano in Bolivia, are reminiscent of Spanish costume at the time of the Conquistadors. The originals are made of bright-colored velvet and trimmed with crystal beading and narrow braid, with close-fitting lines and full sleeves.
Folkwear presents three versions in two views. All have princess lines in the back, with full sleeves pleated into a slightly extended shoulder and into the cuffs. The stitched-0down pleats enhance the fitted look.

View A, unlined, has a V-neck and extends just to a band at the waist.
View B, lined, continues a few inches below fitted waist. The traditional version of View B has a flared peplum formed by small triangles, or godets, set in each seam; without the godets, the jacket has a more contemporary and tailored finish.
Both views close in front with hooks and eyes, or you may use purchased frogs or looped buttons.
Both views have small front pockets.

Designs and instructions are included for optional traditional beading and braid decorations."
