Bruce worked for Frank Zappa from 1974-1980 and his animation featured in several releases: A Token of His Extreme (8/27/1974), The Dub Room Special (10/31/1982), Baby Snakes (1978), Video From Hell (1/15/1987), and Bruce+Zappa+London Symphony Orchestra tour-de-force The Amazing Mr. Bickford (still frustratingly only {legally} released on VHS on 5/15/1989).
Bruce's first independent clay animation film Prometheus' Garden (1988, 28 min) was released on DVD in 2008 (1000 copies) and is now a collector's item.
In 2004, a documentary of Bruce's life and work called Monster Road was released by director Brett Ingram, winning several awards at festivals.
September 1, 2015: the long-awaited release of his second independently produced clay animation film: CAS'L' - finally available on DVD & loaded with Special Features and a trifold 2-sided poster insert.
48 minutes of PURE CLAYHEM!
Bruce's films, being so detail and labor intensive, are only completed every other decade or two. CAS'L' is a marvel of stunning creative realization you will return to for years. The clay characters in CAS'L' speak a pleasing gibberish, so no subtitles are necessary.
This is Bruce's final clay animated film, as he passed away April 28, 2019.
NTSC Region 1 Dual Layer DVD
Only 1000 copies manufactured; we are now well into the final box of 100 DVDs (as of March 6, 2024)
