Resonance Records, ★ there are two live recordings in Spain that capture the precious performance of the Bill Evans Trio again!
★ This work is a recording of a concert in Buenos Aires, Spain in 1979. It was the first official work to be presented in cooperation with the Bill Evans Estate. It was remastered from the live concert tape reel performed by the trio of Bill Evans (p), Mark Johnson (b) and Joe Laberbera (ds) at the Teatro General San Martin in Buenos Aires, Argentina on September 27, 1979.
★ It was recorded in 1979, and Bill Evans died the following year, but performed in the so-called Last Trio. There are 13 songs on the album, and a wonderful and dynamic performance that does not make you feel any premonition of death unfolds. The songs on this album are also mainly songs that Evans liked to play. It also features plenty of Marc Johnson's bass solo and Joe LaBarbera's drum solo.
★ The booklet includes rare photographs from the actual concert, essays by American writer/journalist Mark Myers and Argentine writer Claudio Parisi, as well as the latest interviews with Carlos Melero, Mark Johnson, Joe LaBarbera, and others who owned the original tapes.
★The LP's mastering engineer is the popular Bernie Groundsman and the press is Record Technology Inc. Although it is a mono recording, the sound quality is very clear. Remastered from the original master tape, the thick and immersive sound of the three is brilliantly captured. Analog audiophiles are also noted. In 1973, he led Eddie Gomez (b) and Marty Morrell (ds) to Buenos Aires and released the album "Morning Glory: The 1973 Concert at the Teatro Gram Rex, Buenos Aires" at the same time, and it is fun to compare the two albums.
