This is a spectacular and extremely rare Queen Victoria sulphide paperweight made by the New England Glass Co in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It is unusual to have a date carved into the bottom, but there it is. They started making these in 1852. Unusually good condition!!! This beauty weighs 8.9 ounces, it measures 2.37" wide by 1.52" high. No scratches!!! There is a half moon fold in the glass on the side at the bottom from the production process, and 2 flea bites on the bottom. I don't see anything that I would call damage. This paperweight is a joy to behold in person, and this may be the wonderful example that you have been waiting for. Don't miss out! This is the nicest, cleanest example that we have ever seen!! A wonderful paperweight, no matter how you look at it. If you have time please visit our ebay store The Gonzo Antiquarian- thanks!
