This IDE to USB 2.0 adapter printed circuit board with AC power adapter PSU and indicator light is perfect for powering and connecting your IDE hard drive to your modern computer. It allows you to easily transfer files and access your stored data without the need for an internal hard drive although an external enclosure is not provided. The AC power adapter has a 5 foot cord to the AC outlet.
Besides the indicator light at the end of a 12 inch wire, the adapter printed circuit board itself has 4 connections:
a power connector from the AC power adapter via 4 foot cord,
a USB Type B Female connector for USB 2.0 output [data cable is not included],
a 40-pin IDE/EIDE/PATA Female connector for the hard disk drive, and
a 4-pin female molex peripheral power connector for the hard disk drive.
It, of course, is compatible with MAXTOR but also with many/any other brands of internal IDE hard drives.
