Ladies and Gentlemen, I present this old antique hand-wrought measuring unit - an Ottoman arsin (arshin) - an antique unit of length of cubit type used from the 16th until 20th century in the Ottoman Empire. Before Selim, this unit varied considerably - like mi'mar arshin in architecture or carsi arshin for measuring textiles... The most common pieces are about 68 cm (26.8 inches), this one is shorter - about 23 inches.
