VINTAGE CAMBRIDGE GLASS CLEAR # 3500 STEM 1 OZ.  CORDIAL ADONIS CUTTING

For the cordial collector, we have an elegant glass cordial made by the Cambridge Glass Company formerly of Cambridge, Ohio.  The stem is from their # 3500 stemware line and is the 1-ounce cordial.  It is made with a clear colored glass (Cambridge Glass called this color “Crystal”) and it has a wide optic pattern in the bowl and is decorated with the “Adonis” cutting pattern.  The 1985 book Cambridge Stemware by Mark Nye pictures and describes this stemware line on pages 123 & 124.  The author writes that this stemware line was produced from 1933 to 1958.  This piece has been in my personal collection since 2002.  This is a high quality piece of hand-made glass with a blown bowl, a pressed stem, and a cast foot that were then attached together while hot.  Please be sure to read the “AGE AND CONDITION” and “APPROXIMATE SIZE” paragraphs below.

There is one of these same stems, in this same color, with the same “Adonis” cutting, pictured on page 61 in the 1997 book Stemware Identification: Featuring Cordials with Values 1920s – 1960s by Gene Florence.

The “Adonis” cutting, on this same stem, is pictured on pages 136-139 (page # at the top of the page) of the 1949-1953 Cambridge Catalog Reprint Book The Cambridge Glass Co. by The National Cambridge Collectors, Inc.

I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability.  Some of my photos may be somewhat lighter or darker than actual to better show detail or color.  However, do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or with requests for additional pictures.  I will get back to you as soon as I am able.  I want your transaction with me to be exactly the way I want mine to be when I am the buyer.

Age and Condition

Circa 1931 – 1958.

It is in excellent to mint original condition.  Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item.  There are no chips, flea bites, scratches, repairs, hairlines, cracks, or any other visible signs of wear.  Please keep in mind these photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really is.

Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos, it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece.  It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo.

Approximate Dimensions

The bowl is about 1.875” (4.8 cm) in diameter at the top rim and the cordial stands about 5.125” (13 cm) off the table.

Approximate Weight

About 2.25 ounces (61 grams).

SALES TAX

International shipment options will be via USPS First Class Mail (when the item being shipped meets the requirements of that service) or Priority Mail when it does not.

DO NOT ask us to show a lesser value on the Customs Forms than the item sold for, or to ship the item purchased item as a gift.  Ebay requires us to report any buyer to them who requests this.
