I have here for sale a book entitled TREATMENT OF JOINT AND MUSCLE INJURIES by W. ROWLEY BRISTOW. Published in 1917 by HENRY FROWDE. ' ....special need to call attention to the treatment of muscle and joint injuries at the present time. The large number of cases returning from the front and also reaching the hospitals from the camps and training centres in this country incapacitated from injury to the knee joint resulted in quadriceps insufficiency and recurrent synovitis is most striking..' The book describes what sounds like an early type of TENS MACHINE technique ...'Haphazard stimulation of muscles by means of battery currents is sometimes referred to in text books. This isnot the method recommended here nor indeed does it bear any similarity to it. It is not just" contractions " but rhythmical and graduated contractions of definite muscles and muscle groups which are the very essence of this method ....

Bound in red linen boards. Black title lettering to the front board. Spine is worn with loss. Board corners are bumped a little. Name to the ffep. Tanning to the page edges. This book is in good condition, tightly bound with no loose or missing pages xii,148pp. 22cm x 14cm

Postage and packing : I know that you will be looking forward to receiving your order, each book is carefully wrapped in packing paper ( I have changed from bubble wrap to try and reduce my use of plastic) and posted in a Jiffy bag if size permitting, if not it is double wrapped in corrugated cardboard, brown paper and then securely taped. 

To keep the cost of the postage down to the most economical level per book, you may consider buying more than 1 item from my eBay account. You can then request a combined postage cost and I will combine the items into the fewest parcels as possible - saving you money :)
