One of Norways most famous landscape artists August Jacobson is famous for these beautifully painted serene woodland with the scenes. 

The woods where Jacobson found his inspiration are now known as Jacobsons’ Woods in his honour as he has made them so famous.

This painting shows a river running through a woodland scene. 

The central focus of the painting is The river and the sky, which is beautifully observed, and you like the reflection of the sky in the water . It is in a beautiful swept black and carved gilt wood frame which is almost certainly original to the painting.
