EARLY 20TH CENTURY AMERICAN NAUTICAL, MARITIME THEMED ANTIQUE BRONZE, SMALL 6 1/2" in HEIGHT BOAT ANCHOR DOORSTOP or PAPERWEIGHT, featuring ORIGINAL OLD BRONZE SOFT, MELLOW OXIDIZED PATINA, with EPISODES of VERDIGRIS, with SLIGHT BEND in ANCHOR'S CENTRAL SHAFT
[For sale is this very nice, estate fresh & new to the marketplace, 6 1/2" in height x 4 1/4" in width, early 20th century American bronze doorstop or desktop paperweight, featuring all original oxidized, dry, matte, unpolished surfaces & episodes of embedded charcoal & verdigris. The ship's anchor is in very well-preserved antique condition, with only a slight, barely noticeable bend in the central shaft, no doubt caused by a previous fall or by a door bottom forcing itself against it on a floor. Other than this very minor damage, it's in the kind of antique condition most collectors hope for, in that it wasn't previously polished & isn't lacquered over. This maritime, nautical themed bronze antique ship's anchor is just in time, when winter's claws seem to lessen & the weather opens back up for sailing, salt water boating & recreational visits to coastal summer playgrounds. The anchor could be used as a purely decorative object or still used as a doorstop on the floor or as a desktop paperweight. Regardless of its future application, it reminds us of 'Salt Life,' & the promise of summer, when we feel the cool winds & salt coming in off the sea on our faces. A really nice early 20th century American antique maritime/nautical artifact. Very handsome.]
