Rare Timo Sarpaneva's art glass from 1954 with facet cut shape, air bubble inside and partially hammered surface.  Designed and manufactured in 1954 at Iittala glassworks in Finland.

The art glass name "Spring" / "Lähde" meaning a stream or underground source of clean fresh water. The design has a resemblance of surfacing air bubble surrounded by small air bubbles.

The upper (or lower) half of the piece has been hammered with tiny hammer to make these round broken surface marks (the small "air bubbles") .

This piece is interesting. Its up for a debate or a discussion how this should he kept on table. The hammered side up or down. I can share my speculations privately if you ask for it.

Signed "Timo Sarpaneva Iittala -54".

In good condition. Has small signs of use. There are moderate amount of table bottom scratches on the hammered side. The hammered side have few minimal flea bites or similar tiny signs and its impossible to say are they external minimal damage or due to the hammering (ie. hammer slipped too close to rim).

Diameter is 11 cm (4.25"). Height 6 cm (2.35")
