I am selling my Spendor BC1 speakers which I bought from new back in 1979. The cabinets are in black ash and considering the age are in quite good condition. There are some marks and scratches which I have attempted to show in the photos and there is a small cut in the grille fabric of 19103 . None of which detracts from the sound quality of the speakers which is excellent.

The Spendors were part of a system which included Quad 33/405 amp and Thorens/SME deck and arm, a typical vintage setup.
When streaming came in I sold the Thorens and then decided to replace the Spendors with Harbeth Monitor 3’s so they have been sitting in a cupboard for the last few years.

When I had made the decision to sell I put them along side the Harbeths to test them out to make sure they were working properly and they stood up very well in comparison. The top end and mid range are excellent, where the Harbeths score is the lower frequencies which are cleaner and more detailed . Just my personal (subjective) opinion but I am more than happy to demo them to a genuine buyer.

I still have the original metal trolley stands but I wouldn’t recommend them, they don’t do the speakers any favours other than making them easier to move around.

I would prefer that they were collected, firstly so that you can hear them and secondly they are heavy and the shipping costs would be expensive.
