One rainy day in 1890, An aristocrat and a friend were in a Dorset Stately home. Sitting near a window they made a bet. The bet was to see which of two raindrops would reach the bottom first. They each wagered �5. The loser went to the bank and withdrew 4,800 of these farthings (the lowest value coin at the time). Over a century later, these unused coins were found still wrapped in tissue paper from the bank.
