"GIBSON", a brand that continues to send many guitars and basses and is still loved by musicians around the world.

This model is a 1975 Ripper bass with an edgy slim body.
The Ripper was designed by Bill Lawrence and was reissued once on a rare base manufactured from 1973 to 1983, but that model was also discontinued in a short period of time. Therefore, it is rarely seen in the United States, and the price is soaring.
Early Ripper models used maple for their bodies, and although some models made in 1975 had lighter alder bodies, this model seems to be made of maple.

At first glance, the pickguard looks black, but if you look closely, it has a dark tortoiseshell pattern. This is actually the original specification.

The pickup was developed for this model, and the two coils arranged with the sides facing up provide a hum-cancelling effect.
The pickup can be switched with a rotary switch, and position 1 is the front + rear series (series). Position 2 is rear, position 3 is front + rear parallel (parallel), position 4 is front + rear opposite phase series.

The controls are a combination of master volume, master midrange, and master high cut tone.

There are several dents and scratches on the buckle due to its age, but there is no major damage, and for an instrument that is almost 50 years old, it is a relatively beautiful individual. There is no problem with control, etc., and there is no problem with the condition of the neck. The neck is almost straight now, and the truss rod is only slightly left in the direction of loosening.

The combination of the maple body and maple neck gives a tight sound, but the two humbucker pickups output a thick and sticky sound. And the 4-position selector allows you to produce a wide range of tones, giving you various expressions according to the song, such as a thick sound, a JAZZ BASS sound, and a crisp tone only for the rear.

As I mentioned at the beginning, it is one of the few rare models on the market today.
It is expected that the price will rise in the future, so if you are interested, please do so as soon as possible.
