Synopsis
Pride and Prejudice, published in 1813, is the most famous of Jane Austen's works and one of the first "romantic comedies" in the history of the novel. It revolves around Mr.and Mrs.Bennet's five daughters who are all unmarried, when a rich, amiable young man moves into the neighbourhood. Mrs. Bennet hopes to secure him as a husband for her beautiful, eldest daughter, Miss Jane Bennet. However, events conspire to create a number of obstacles and misunderstandings that separate them.

---------- About the Author----------
Jane Austen (1775–1817) was an English novelist whose realism, biting social commentary and masterful use of free indirect speech, burlesque and irony have earned her a place as one of the most widely read and best-loved writers in British literature. Austen's works critique the novels of sensibility of the second half of the eighteenth century and are part of the transition to nineteenth-century realism. Austen's plots, though fundamentally comic, highlight the dependence of women on marriage to secure social standing and economic security.
