Extensive text on plant species, distilling techniques, related chemistry etc. The books include a number of period photographs showing woman in large gowns harvesting crops, trees and plants in their native environments, along with engravings of chemistry equipment used in the distilation and production of perfumes and essential oils.

Age toning to blank endpapers of Vol. 1. One internal page with short closed tear. Page edges dusty on top of books. Corners of Vol. 2 bumped. Ex University of Sydney library with interesting old card to rear inside covers and a couple of library stamps to each book. A good strong, tight and internally clean set of very rare books. OVER 100 YEARS OLD.
