“Kuba cloth,” is a hand-made fabric made by the Kasai tribe from the fibers of the raffia palm tree in the Democratic Republic of Congo.The cloth is collected worldwide for it’s beauty and craftmanship.Kuba cloth is very labor-intensive to produce. It takes over a month to make a small piece of cloth; finer examples with more intricate patterns can take two or more months to complete. There are different types of Kuba cloth; more elaborate types like Mishinga is very rare. Each piece of Kuba cloth is one-of-a-kind; their widths, lengths, patterns and colors always differ. Many pieces of Kuba cloth only render one bag and if more than one can be made, each will still be unique.
